Speakers Slated for the 10th IBBY Regional Conference in St. Louis this October August 14, 2013

As you make your professional development plans for the upcoming school year, don’t forget about the opportunity to learn more about the work of a range of authors and illustrators whose books you probably already showcase in your school libraries. The speaker schedule and breakout sessions for the 10th IBBY Regional Conference have been announced. The event, themed around “BookJoy Around the World,” will be co-sponsored by USBBY and the St. Louis Public Library on October 18-20, 2013.

A full list of breakout sessions has been posted on the conference site and you can register online.

And there is still time to submit a proposal for a USBBY Regional Conference poster related to childrenĀ“s and/or adolescent literature, on reading promotion programs and/or activities for children/adolescents, or on ideas for celebrating the IBBY International ChildrenĀ“s Book Day. Those proposals will be accepted through August 15.

Posters will be displayed in the conference center area at the St. Louis Union Station Hotel on Friday evening and all day Sunday. Presenters will showcase their work for conversation and feedback during scheduled breaks on Sunday.

Wendy Stephens is the ALA/AASL representative on the Board of Directors of USBBY.
